  • Report of illegal dumping on Blair Road. Officer reports no evidence was left to determine owner.
  • Well being check on North Blandford Road. Reports stated that person had not retrieved mail for over a week. Party was in hospital.
  • Report of a suspicious person on Beech Hill Road. Caller reports that when she awoke to let her dog outside she turned on the outside light. When the lights came on she heard someone running down her gravel driveway and then sped off squealing their tires at a high rate of speed. Report taken.

Runaway juvenile, Russell Stage Road.  Juvenile returned home.

Christopher Fields, 26,  of Agawam was arrested by Blandford Police on North Blandford Road.  Fields was charged with operating under the influence, and open container violation.  This a direct result of increased traffic enforcement by the Blandford Police Department.

  • Blandford police assisted in Tolland with the Tolland police for a 911 call for a Domestic Disturbance.  Party was removed from location by officers.
  • State Police are investigating the larceny of a piece of construction equipment from Herrick Road.

  • Responded to Woronoco Road for a reported B&E. Officers and MSP Crime Scene conducted an evidence search at the residence.  The matter will remain under investigation.
  • Responded to Watson park for a report of loud music and vehicles trespassing on park property. Parties left prior to police arrival.
  • Patrol officer reported that two trees in the center of town had been "Toiletpapered". No persons found in the area.
  • Blandford Police and Blandford Fire Dept., responded to Blandford Road in Chester for a reported structure fire. Chester Police extinguished the blaze with a garden hose prior to arrival.

Responded to Beulah Land Road for a house alarm. False alarm by homeowner.

To date 1 suspect has been arrested in connection to the recent B&E's in town. Investigations are still ongoing.

Blandford Police responded to Gibbs Road for a reported disturbance. The caller stated that his daughters boyfriend is staying at the residence and that he was intoxicated and belligerent. Police advised the male party to go to bed and if we returned he would be going to jail. Peace restored.

Blandford, State Police B-5 and MSP Crime Scene responded to 10 Moreau Rd for a reported B&E. This is the second B&E in Two weeks. This will remain under investigation. Blandford Police are reminding everyone to take all neccessary precautions and if anyone sees anything suspicious call 911 immediately.

Blandford Police responded to Russel stage road for a report of an unwanted guest. The individual left the scene before officers arrived.

Blandford and State Police responded to Julias Hall Road for a report of a runaway 9 year old boy. The boy had apparently been visiting his Grandparents home when he got in an argument with his little sister. The boy was upset and fled on foot. The Boy was located on Beech Hill Road near the Granville line and was returned to his Grandparents home.

Blandford Police received and responded to a call of children on the roof of the elementary school. Four Juveniles were identified by a neighbor and will be trespassed from the building and grounds.


08/10/09
A concerned parent came to the station to report that she found some drug paraphernalia
in her sons bedroom. The contraband was confiscated and an officer will follow up on the incident.

Blandford Police received a call of a Larceny at Laurel  Ridge Campground. A 3500 watt power generator was stolen from site R34, at the campground.
The generator was secured using a cable but someone cut the cable and stole the generator while the owner was away.

Blandford and State Police were dispatched to 98 Main Street for a report of a disturbance.
The disturbance, between two neighbors was over property boundaries, parking and construction of a fence.
This issue is ongoing and all parties are in contact with their attorneys.

Blandford Police and Blandford Fire, responded to a motorcycle crash on Otis Stage Road.
One injury was reported and the operator was transported to the Hospital by EMS.

Blandford Police Responded to a One vehicle crash on Beech Hill Rd. No Injuries were reported.

Assisted Fire personnel on Otis Stage Rd for a medical call. 1 party was transported to Hospital by Otis EMS.

Assist Fire Dept. at a medical Call 51 Woronoco Road

   209A violation, 3 Gibbs Road - Robert Dearing,  was placed under arrest by Blandford Police for violation of a restraining order.

  Blandford and State Police responded to Julius Hall road for a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance.  1 party was taken into custody.

    911 Call for trespassing on Gibbs Road. Party left location prior to police arrival.


05/04/09

    Responded to a 1 car M/V accident in front of 136 North Blandford Road.  The operator of the vehicle, Brian Lemay, 39, of Westfield, was arrested by Blandford Police and charged with operating after suspension.


 

 04/30/09

   Blandford Police were first on scene for a rollover accident at the intersection of Russell Stage and Schoolhouse Road. State Police, Blandford fire, and Hilltown Ambulance, were also on scene. The jaws of life were used to extricate 2 parties from the vehicle.   1 party was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The operator of the vehicle will be  summoned to court for numerous m/v violations.

     Police and fire personnel responded to a major brush fire in the area of Russell Stage road. More than 40 firefighters were on scene battling the blaze. Blandford Police Sergeant, Rick Mazza and officers Jack Haight, Lindsey Mccaul ,and Scott King, assisted fire personnel.

    Officers were first on scene for a medical call on Sperry road for a male with low blood sugar.

    Police were first on scene for  a 911 call for an unresponsive female on North Street.  CPR was initiated by Sergeant Mazza and fire personnel. The female was transported by ambulance to the hospital

The road respect grant has began.  Officers will be out in force seeking aggressive drivers. 

Blandford Officers will also be on patrol with the departments ATV vehicle. 

The Elementary school has had several incidents of vandalism in the last few months. The school has posted no loitering signs. Police will be enforcing the no loitering policy.

The Blandford Police Department has received a Stinger Systems S-200 projectile stun gun. The stun gun system was won by the department in a raffle at a police equipment trade-show.  Officers will be trained and certified on proper usage of the system .

State Police recovered a body of a male party from a wooded area off Beech Hill Road.  Blandford Police were also on scene.  No foul play is suspected at this time.

Responded to Main Street, along with Blandford Fire and State police, for a male party feeling suicidal. The party was taken without incident,  by ambulance for observation.

 Summons served at 76 Russell Stage Road.

Officers responded to North Blandford Road for horses in road again.  Problem was dealt with and horse returned to enclosure.

Responded along with Blandford Fire to a medical call at # 22 Sperry Road.  Party was transported to hospital via Hilltown Ambulance.

First on scene for a report of a possible structure fire at 9 Nye Brook Rd. Fire was in chimney.  Blandford fire responded and fire was extinguished.

Officers responded to North Blandford Road for a report of a loose horse in the road.  The horse was removed from the road.

Officers responded to a m/v accident on Otis Tolland Rd.  No injuries reported.
